A great day out for all the family, we spent the day there, had two very good tours with two guides, even visited the Northumberland archive.

If you are interested in mining then Woodhorn shows you what it was like when the pits closed in the 80's and then back to when the pit opened in the late 1800. It really was not pleasant to be a miner, but the museum shows what living conditions were like too and the comunty was strong. It is a superb piece of history preserved... although manicured now. There's a cafe, shop, guided tours, kids play ground. The art is interesting too. Easily fills a couple of hours.

Fantastic place we have been to see Santa and ice skating both relaxed sessions. Staff were absolutely fantastic. Have membership so will be going back.

Really beautiful museum to visit. We have been many times over the last 5 years and our most recent visit was back in October. Such amazing archives here and will be visiting again soon. Very clean and staff were super. Food and drink available also.

Nice place to visit for a family afternoon out. Very reasonable price wise. Free parking and then only adults pay to get in which was 6.50 per person and can return as many times as you like within 12 months. The museum was very informative lots exhibits and interactive displays. Good outdoor play area to entertain kids. There's also a cafe and gift shop too.
